Thank you for your interest in the Lord's work in Bessemer, Alabama.
Who we are:
Christians, disciples of Christ, trying to live our lives and worship God as prescribed by the Holy Spirit about 2,000 years ago. If God was happy with that plan, we do not see any reason to ''improve'' it. We have a place of assembly with adequate space for worship, classes, meetings, and preparation for teaching. We also offer classes for all ages on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings.
What we do:
Sing. Pray. Study the Bible together. Hear lessons from Scripture. Remember Christ's death. Think.
What we do not do:
Embarrass. Intimidate. Solicit money. Ignore visitors. Insult your intelligence.
What we believe:
The Bible is our sole authority. Through it we can find everything we need for a better life here... and, more importantly, eternal life in heaven with God. The Bible is logical, complete, and understandable to all who make the effort.
The church described in the Bible is nothing more (or less) than an assembly of Christians, devoted to being disciples of Christ: a congregation uncomplicated by creeds, boards, or social clubs - and one independent from governing bodies. The church demonstrates the wisdom of God. It speaks with the love of Christ. It echoes the words of the Holy Spirit, to every nation, in every place, in every time.
God speaks (through His word) to all who desire to have power over the doubt, worry, stress, and fear in their lives. He speaks of obtaining the forgiveness of sin that Jesus offers. In the Bible, God speaks...to you.
